Dr Allison Wylde
Expertise
Allison’s teaching and management portfolio includes a programme leadership and a senior
lectureship (assistant professor) post with Glasgow Caledonian University (GCU). She teaches and
supervises at Russel Group Institutions, including Cardiff University Business School, Cardiff School of
Computer Science and Informatics and the University of Warwick (WMG) where she supervises
dissertations and for WMG, delivers executive education and MSc courses for practitioners from
finance and automotive. She has recent DBA and PhD completions with the University of the West of
Scotland, and she serves as an external examiner (PhDs) with the University of Karachi, Pakistan.
Allison serves and a National Expert on Societal Security Management and was previously an
International Commissioner on Security Standards and Guidelines, co-chairing the first ASIS
International/ American National Standards Institute (ANSI), standard on physical security
management.
In December 2024, Allison’s keynote at the Kingdom of Saudia Arabia Internet Governance Forum (IGF) conference will focus on innovation in AI and security. Her research contributes to the UN and informs the development of international security/ cyber security policy and learning and provides practical input into operationalising cyber security and AI. Leading teams on AI Governance and interoperability, Allison’s research with the UN IGF focuses on cyber norms, principles, and standards; governance and ethics; and trust, and zero trust; and the policy implications of the SolarWinds breach. She contributes to the Data Science for Common Good Research Group at GCU, as AI lead, and with the Airbus Centre of Excellence in Cyber Security Analytics at Cardiff University.
