Who is this qualification for?
This qualification is designed for individuals who want to become emergency first-aiders in the workplace. It fulfills the training requirements for emergency first-aid responders in organizations that have determined, through their first-aid needs assessment, that staff should be trained at this level.
How long will it take?
To complete the Emergency First Aid at Work qualification, learners should anticipate around 7 hours of training, usually conducted in a single day, with a minimum of 6 hours of direct instruction.
Topics covered
The qualification includes essential knowledge such as understanding the roles and responsibilities of a first aider and how to evaluate an incident. It also covers key first aid skills, including performing CPR, using an AED, assisting a choking casualty, and managing external bleeding and hypovolaemic shock.
