Who is this qualification for?
The purpose of this qualification is to support individuals in pursuing a role in the workplace. It is specifically designed for those seeking to obtain a license from the Security Industry Authority (SIA) to work as a door supervisor. The qualification is aligned with the SIA’s learning and qualification standards.
How long will it take?
To complete this qualification, learners are expected to engage in approximately 61 hours of learning. The SIA requires a minimum of 44 contact hours (spanning 6 days) if self-study is part of the process.
Topics covered
This covers the key aspects of the Private Security Industry, including the significance of safe working practices, drug misuse legislation, specific issues and procedures related to the role of a door supervisor, licensing laws, queue management strategies, how to identify, evaluate, and minimize risks in conflict situations, conflict resolution techniques, the use of physical interventions and their potential consequences, as well as employing non-aggressive physical skills for personal and others’ protection.
Eligibility 18+
Before starting training, learners must hold a valid Level 3 Emergency First Aid certificate, which should remain valid for at least 12 months from the course start date. If you don’t have one, we can arrange the first aid training for you.
To ensure smooth delivery of our 6-day Door Supervisor Course, self-study is mandatory for all participants. Prior to attending, learners are required to complete two important ACT e-learning modules: ACT Awareness and ACT Security, available on the National Counter Terrorism Security Office’s learning platform.
